Glorious Sounds of Retro! BOARDWALK EMPIRE Version
HBO's BOARDWALK EMPIRE is my new favorite show simply by virtue of its soundtrack. Is it possible that the show could bring a renewed interest in 1920s pop music and vaudeville? Imagine, a weekly dose of Sophie Tucker and Al Jolson and more. YES.

"Miss Blankenship, Queen of Perversions!"
My musings on this week's episode of MAD MEN are now up at Libertas!
I went a little beatnik poetical/personal reflection this time in my recap. This episode -- as everyone's been saying -- was beyond superb in every way (acting, script, direction, etc.), but for me it was more than a brilliantly produced hour of television. Something about this episode really hit me, touching me on a deep personal level that few television shows have ever reached. It was a masterpiece.
Please do read my thoughts on episode 7, "The Suitcase," at LFM!
